Loop & Purl is an independent English-language resource for people learning to knit. We use clear terminology, show the maths behind our tools, and encourage a swatch before a fitted project. Needle sizes are given in millimetres; yarn category names are a starting point, not a promise of matching gauge.
How to read our guides
Our articles offer practical starting points and explain the assumptions behind them. Reference links identify outside resources where relevant. We do not claim personal testing, professional qualifications, or product endorsements unless a page explicitly provides that evidence.
